  5. How to have exquisite eyebrows

Waxing and tinting are effective techniques to help you achieve exquisite eyebrows that will really accentuate your eyes and shape your face.

Having beautiful eyebrows is an obsession among the beauty-conscious. Walk down any high street or mall and you will find at least one or two pop-up ‘brow bars’.

Eyebrows are an essential part of your face, helping to shape it and accentuate your eyes. Your brows are such a focal point, it’s no wonder so many people are willing to spend time and money to make theirs look perfect.

At Eudaimonia, we’re obsessed with creating exquisite eyebrows. Take a look at our guide to the perfect look.

What makes a good eyebrow shape?

There is no such thing as the ’right’ eyebrow shape. As we are all individual, you need to consider what will suit your face and eyes the best. Use your brow to enhance your features. Fashion does play a part (ultra-thin eyebrows aren’t in right now) but you have to ensure the latest trend is still the right look for you.

How can you decide what eyebrow style to go for?

  • Know your face shape and which eyebrow style suits it best. The choice of eyebrow shape should be dictated by the shape of your face and the natural style of your eyebrows. Your eyebrow expert at Eudaimonia will be able to help you with this.

For instance, a longer face will benefit from flat-shaped eyebrows as this can balance out the features by making the face appear shorter. An oval-shaped face is best combined with a soft angled brow shape which goes up and down and with gentle curves at the ends. On an oval face with larger lips and eyes and a high forehead, thicker brows work best. Finer features will look better with slimmer brows.

    • Make sure your eyebrows are groomed. Neat, refined, tidy eyebrows will be noticeable and help to create a youthful, polished look. There is less need for make-up when your brows are manicured.

  • Aim for balance. Symmetry is pleasing to look at so make sure your eyebrows aren’t out of line. Uneven brows can throw off the balance of your facial features.

Making your eyebrows exquisite

There are so many ways to sculpt the perfect brow. It all depends on whether you’re looking to enhance, tidy or make your brows more noticeable.

Here are the methods we use here at Eudaimonia:

  • Eyebrow waxing

Used to neaten up a bushy brow, this technique uses warm wax applied to the hairs which are then pulled out with a thin paper strip. It’s quick and relatively painless when done by an experienced eyebrow therapist. Best of all, the hairs grow back lighter and thinner.

  • Semi-permanent henna

Using henna dye to temporarily tint your eyebrows is a great all-natural way to keep them looking shaped with no effort. If you’ve got gaps in your eyebrows or simply want to save time doing your make-up in the morning, henna can be a good option. The treatment is used to stain the skin under the hairs to give your eyebrows more depth and fullness. It takes just 15 minutes to work its magic.

  • Eyebrow tinting

For a longer-lasting effect, try eyebrow tinting. This is also a great way to make your eyebrows look fuller and more youthful, without having to use pencil liner or powders every day. Plus it’s less daunting than the much more permanent eyebrow tattooing option. This process uses a semi-permanent dye which can last for around six weeks.

What you can do to keep your eyebrows looking exquisite

To keep your brows looking their best, book regular appointments every four to five weeks with your beautician and avoid tweezing. The hairs can then regrow uniformly rather than creating patches. If you find strays popping up in the meantime, use a good quality primer to cover them up and add some concealer over the top. Finally, keep your skin hydrated and protected from the sun using an SPF eye cream.

Enhance your eyes

Why not try eyelash extensions for that natural glamour look to complement your exquisite eyebrows? Unlike false eyelashes, extensions are expertly hand-glued by your therapist over your existing eyelashes so they look genuine. If properly cared for, with gentle face-washing and no mascara, they can last anywhere from six to eight weeks.
